Alpha Psi Lambda National Inc. Announces Sewanee: The University of the South Expansion

Chicago, IL- Alpha Psi Lambda National Inc., welcomes its newest entity, the Alpha Psi Lambda, Sewanee Affiliate Chapter, founded in Sewanee, TN on April, 27, 2019.

The Affiliate Chapter’s founding line, Dinámicos, is made up of the following students:

Angela Barbosa - Edgar Huerta - Jonathan Lopez - Marc Monteil - Matthew Tantengco - Melissa Montes

This milestone event was made possible by the Expansion Committee, chaired by Georgia Alcazar, and includes Alexander Morales and Joey Garcia. The committee represents alumni experience from Chi Chapter - Lewis University.

The affiliate chapter is the first Latino fraternity on campus and first undergraduate entity for Alpha Psi Lambda National, Inc.in the state of Tennessee. Sewanee joins other entities in region to include Psi, Alpha Alpha, and Alpha Theta chapters which represent Northern Kentucky University, Coastal Carolina University, and University of North Carolina - Wilmington, respectively.

Alpha Psi Lambda National Inc., was founded in 1985 at the Ohio State University as a Latino-interest fraternity by 13 Noble men and women. The mission of Alpha Psi Lambda is to promote continued personal and collective growth of our membership, success and unity through education, leadership, cultural awareness and community service.. The fraternity has expanded to include 33 collegiate chapters and 9 affiliate chapters in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee,  Texas, Virginia and Washington.
