Alpha Psi Lambda Stands United in Support of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

In 2012, President Barack Obama announced that undocumented minors  who came to the United States as children and meeting specific conditions would be protected against deportation under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The program allows eligible people to request deferred action for a period of two years (subject to renewal), granting them lawful presence in the United States so they can attend school and apply for employment authorization. Since 2012, nearly 800,000 have received work permits and deportation relief through the DACA program. Many of the DACA recipients risked exposing their unauthorized status by submitting the DACA application and now face the possibility that the information they provided could be used to separate them from their families.
