Coronavirus Updates

CDC Guidelines

August 19, 2020

The National Executive Board of Alpha Psi Lambda National, Inc. recognizes that the current environment is difficult to conduct Fraternity operations for many reasons, and makes it difficult for members and Associate members to connect and build relationships. The following policies are subject to change. For specific questions or scenarios, contact us at [email protected].

COVID-19 Fall 2020 Policies

March 12, 2020

Over the past few weeks The National Executive Board has been closely following the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and all its impacts. Many universities and workplaces have moved to virtual meetings, virtual classes, and working remotely. This has impacted us on many campuses and we believe we will continue to see measures taken on more campuses in the coming days.

If your campus has been closed, or moved to virtual classes only, please make us aware and also see these recommendations below:

  • All Fraternity programs and events should be cancelled or rescheduled to a later date.
  • All chapter meetings and MIP events must be held virtually
    • Details will be discussed in one on one meetings with Chapter Associate Member Educators and Chapter Presidents.
  • Once universities have reinstated operations allowing students back on campus, or to engage in in-person group activities, we will work with chapters to identify an appropriate crossing date.

If campus is open, we strongly encourage everyone to follow the recommended CDC guidelines and Learn More About COVID-19

Please remember and practice these hygienic practices:

  • Regularly and thoroughly wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water
    • If soap and water are not readily available, clean your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces (at work, home and school)
  • Do not touch your face, mouth or nose
  • Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.
  • If you feel you may have symptoms related to COVID-19 contact your doctor before going to a hospital

The National Executive Board will be meeting weekly to discuss actions taken and needed, and will provide the Fraternity with updates The health and well being of our members and Associate members is of the utmost importance and we will continue to be a source for support, resources, and action planning through this time.
