Alumni Volunteer Opportunities

Alpha Psi Lambda has grown and evolved through the help of volunteers and the Fraternity's ongoing success depends on volunteer contributions.

There are different opportunities available depending on the time you have to commit, your skills and what you are interested in. If you are interested in volunteering please use this application to apply for all positions:  National Office Application  (must be registered on GreekTrack to submit).

National Executive Board (NEB)

The NEB is the overall administrative body for the Fraternity and has a variety of responsibilities including: support and grow collegiate Chapters; promote Alumni Associations and networking, enforce Fraternity policy and procedure. 

The NEB is comprised of 9 alumni that serve two year terms, pay annual dues of $60 and hold a degree. Nominations and candidate packet information is due in March. These positions are elected at the National House of Delegates in June or appointed by the NEB in cases of vacancy.

2024 Nominations Schedule

  • Nominations, including self nominations, must be submitted by national dues paying members via the NHOD National Executive Board Nomination Form (must be registered on GreekTrack to submit).
  • Nominations are due by Thursday, February 22, 2024.
  • Notices of nominations sent to nominees on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
  • Nominees respond to nomination by Sunday, March 3, 2024.
  • If accepted, candidates must submit required documentation by Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
  • Delegate Packets will be finalized and distributed by Monday, March 18, 2024.

All candidates are required to submit a volunteer application through GreekTrack and a resume.

National Committee

The National Committee positions focus on a variety of areas to support Fraternity Operations such as Civic Engagement,  Inclusion, Historian and others. These positions report to the Executive Vice President.

Appointments
If you are interested in applying for a position, please submit an email stating which positions you are interested in to nationaloffice@alphapsilambda.net and complete the online volunteer application.

Regional Boards (Includes Chapter Directors)

Regional Boards are comprised of Regional Directors, Chapter Directors and other positions the National Executive Board deems necessary to support collegiate chapters.

Appointments

The Executive Vice President is responsible for appointing these positions for collegiate chapters. Active chapters will have the opportunity to approve their Chapter Director appointments.

Executive Alumni Board (EAB)

The Executive Alumni Board serves as leadership for the National Alumni Association (NAA). 

Term for Director of Operations is two years, elected on odd calendar years.
Terms for Director of Membership and Director of Programs are one year, from July 1st to June 30th.

Positions are voted on by the National Alumni Association members. If you are interested in applying, complete an online volunteer application. Questions regarding the positions may be sent to the Vice President of Alumni Affairs aalumniaffairs@alphapsilambda.net.

Director of Operations

  • Record meeting minutes and maintain Association records
  • Manage the budget of the Association
  • Preside at meetings in the absence of Executive Director

Director of Membership

  • Responsible for recruiting and outreach to alumni
  • Manage the Association’s member database
  • Oversee the activities of Alumni Clubs

Director of Programs

  • Oversee all events and programs hosted by the Association and Alumni Clubs

Assistant positions - These are appointed by the officer that they work for and do not pay dues. These include assistants for:

  • Finance
  • Membership Intake
  • Administration
  • Marketing
  • Risk Management
  • Expansion

Chapter Development Committees
These committees work with the Chapter Director to provide support to the Chapters/Affiliate Chapters that they serve. This includes:

  • Attending meetings, MIP activities
  • Coaching assigned Executive Board members
  • Providing updates and escalating any concerns to the Chapter Director

Expansion Committees
Expansion Committees are appointed for new campuses and re-established chapters. All alumni and at large members in good standing may apply. To be considered eligible, you must complete the Alumni Expansion Volunteer Request (each fall/spring) and submit a National Office  Application on GreekTrack (applications are valid for 3 years). Individuals will be considered based on: availability, budget, past Fraternity experience, past expansion committee involvement, and any current sanctions.

Short Term Projects
The National Office has a long to-do list! There are always a variety of projects available that require help. If you have time and are interested in assisting with a short term project, please contact us at

Standards Board
The purpose of the Standards Board is to ensure membership adherence and compliance to the Fraternity’s Policy and Procedure Manual. The Standards Board will inquire, collect and compile all necessary information that is crucial for the inquiry or investigation and then based on the information make an educated and informed recommendation of a verdict and sanction, if applicable, to the NEB.

Each Standards Board member shall receive a term of two years. Higher Ed, Law, Criminal Justice backgrounds desired. These positions do not pay dues. 

Qualifications

  • Must be in good standing with their Chapter and the Fraternity
  • Must have served at least one year of activeness at a Chapter
  • Must have been out of college for at least four years (applies to undergraduate and graduate/professional school applicants who were active with a Chapter during graduate school)
  • A candidate with a degree or relevant experience is preferred
  • Members At-Large may be considered
